Commercial waste

This service is for schools and academies.

Derby City Council offers a comprehensive commercial waste collection service. We collect and dispose of all waste including recycling, general, confidential and clinical waste.

All our services meet the 'Duty of Care' regulations and are completely flexible so they can be tailored to specific business needs.

Benefits for your school

By using our service, you can be sure that your waste will be collected and disposed of safely and responsibly, all while fulfilling your duty of care.

Bin collections - recycling and refuse collections. Charges include container rental and Duty of Care documentation.

Confidential waste - safe and secure collection and disposal of confidential waste, sensitive documents, disks, archive files, bagged or shredded paper.
'One-off' collections - we can arrange to collect extra bagged waste or additional bins on a one-off basis.

What refuse and recycling containers are there?

You have a choice of the following refuse/recycling container:

  • 240 litre or 360 litre container
  • 770 litre or 1100 litre container

We offer a comprehensive trade recycling service to help your meet your environmental obligations. Recycling collections costs a lot less than general waste collections so are worth investigating. Paper - leaflets, brochures, catalogues, office paper and white envelopes, telephone directories, newspaper and magazines, junk mail.
Cardboard - flattened cardboard boxes.

Mixed dry recyclables - glass bottles and jars, tins and cans, plastic bottles and containers, drinks cartons.
