Nomination and Election of Parent Governor Representatives to CYP and Skills Scrutiny Board

Nominations are invited for two to five parent governor representatives from Local Authority Maintained Schools (community, foundation, voluntary, special and nursery schools) to sit onthe Children, Young People and Skills Scrutiny Review Board for a four-year period from December 2023.

Candidates should be a parent governor (a person who is elected as a member of the Governing Board of the school, by parents of registered pupils at the school and who is a parent at the time of their election).

The Children, Young People and Skills Scrutiny Review Board reviews policy and conducts inquiries looking at ways to improve services and support Derby city children, young people, and their families. The Board meets six times a year for approximately 2 hours, normally on a Monday evening. Parent governor representatives, along with board colleagues, use their skills, experience, and knowledge to participate in debate and raise questions which enable the board to reach conclusions and make recommendations for improvement.

If elected, ideally you will be available to attend the Board meeting scheduled for 5 February 2024.
