Recruitment and selection
As from 1 January 2010, safer recruitment training became mandatory for the recruitment of school staff. This means a recruitment panel must have at least one member who has completed the training or, where an individual is in charge of recruitment, that individual must have completed the training. It is the responsibility of schools to comply.
In addition to this, we would strongly recommend you attend this course if you are a member of a recruitment and selection panel at school. This course is suitable for the Senior Leadership team as well as Governors.

Our lead on Equality and Diversity, Ann Webster, can help you with understanding the basics of the Equality Act and what you, as a school, and your Governors need to do. We can design a training package around your particular needs – daytime, evenings, or even weekends if this fits in better for you.
