Project consent and devolved formula capital
Schools must appoint an appropriate Professional Adviser to manage all projects on school sites (within the building or within/on school grounds). This even applies to voluntary or no cost works carried out for the school by third parties. For Community and Voluntary Controlled schools no works must be commissioned or ordered until the school has received written approval that the project has been approved. For full details please refer to the information contained within the new project consent and devolved capital guidance pack 2024/25.
Schools must submit the new Schools project consent form 2024/25 to apply for approval for works. It is important that schools read and understand the contents of the above Project Consent and Devolved Capital Guidance Pack before making an application. Applications will only be accepted on this new form, which is the same form that schools (including Foundation and Trust Schools) will use to draw down DFC funding. VA Schools will access their funding in the usual manner through co-ordination with their Diocese. Academies and Free Schools receive their capital funding directly.
Devolved Capital Allocations 2024/25
Community, Voluntary Controlled and Foundation Schools can view their DFC allocations for 2024/25 and carry forward figures from 2023/24 within the project consent and devolved capital guidance pack. VA Schools, Academies and Free Schools receive their capital funding directly.
