Boundary fences, gates and walls

The School Boundaries and Fences Guidance Document sets out the measures and procedures, in the form of inspections, risk assessments and compliance checks to ensure, so that the Council and schools charge their legal health and safety duties effectively.  There are two types of checks in relation to walls, fences and gates. These are; Boundary Lay-Survey Inspections; and Risk Assessments of spiked topped fences/gates. The document sets out the responsibilities of schools in relation to each of the above, and how schools should go about arranging surveys and checks.
