SENDIASS is Derby City Local Authority’s statutory service that offers free, impartial, information, advice and support. 

We understand that Early Years is a very important time in a child’s development especially when there may be signs of emerging needs.

We will be providing some online sessions for you to find out more about SENDIASS and the Early Years Transition booklet. SENDIASS was part of the team working on the Early Years Transition booklet. This was written to support providers and schools with smooth transitions.

We can provide information and guidance directly to parents who have concerns or just need questions answering, Or, if any of your parents feel they need some guidance on any aspect of SEND you can signpost them to our website, where we have a short contact form.

SENDIASS can support with the transition by supporting parent through the process. For example, we can attend your transition events, coffee mornings and parent’s evenings. We can also, where necessary, arrange and support with transition meetings between providers, new school and parents.

Our aim is for you to recognise how our service could help early years providers and your families with any children in your settings with Special Educational needs and disabilities.
