FREE support for teachers in Years 1-6 in the assessment of writing
Agreement Trialling Sessions
Building on the success of last year, Vincent Hampton will be leading sessions on the assessment of writing for each age group from Years 1-6 in the Spring term.
During these agreement trialling sessions teachers will be supported by colleagues to consider their assessments of pupils’ work. Teachers should bring collections of writing from 3-5 pupils, with variation in teacher’s judgement of attainment.
The session will include a focus key knowledge and understanding that can impact on teacher assessment. In groups, colleagues from different schools will then use the resources available on the day to guide their assessment of children’s writing.
Please note that Year 6 teachers should choose the morning or afternoon session and indicate this when booking.
Key Stage 1 Moderation
In addition to the agreement trialling, we will also run a Key Stage 1 moderation event again this academic year. We are currently recruiting moderators, who will be able to support teachers from each school in assessments. The focus will be on writing, but may include moderation of maths and reading if time allows at the event.
When booking, colleagues should make clear which session they wish to attend, either morning or afternoon.
