What is the offer?

Anna Freud, in collaboration with the co-founders of the Pears Family School, have developed an introductory training programme for mainstream primary and secondary schools to develop an understanding the complexities of parental engagement and develop the skills and knowledge on how to improve parental relationships within your school.

Who is this training for?

The Parent Partnership training is suitable for education staff who work regularly with parents and carers e.g. pastoral leads, year leaders, Senior Mental Health Leads, SENCos.  The cost of this is usually £125 but is free for Derby schools to access (limited number of places).

Delegates who attend the course will learn the following:

  • Understand the link between parent and carer engagement and student wellbeing and educational outcomes.
  • Understand how engendered trust will foster parent and carer partnership.
  • Know the skills and techniques needed to create safety and collaboration within difficult conversations.

Evaluation

By participating in this project, delegates are agreeing to complete an evaluation of the training.  This will include an online survey prior to completing the training, a survey upon the completion of the training and one six months after the training.
