National research suggests that 61% of hackers began hacking before the age 16, but some may be as young as 10, with estimates showing that 1 in 4 teenagers have tried some form of cybercrime (many without realising it).

Derbyshire County Council Community Safety Unit and Derbyshire Police Cybercrime Unit are delivering free, one-hour online briefings in December to help you ‘spot the possible signs’ and make referrals to Cyber Choices, the early intervention programme developed by the National Crime Agency.

The briefing will help you develop a greater awareness of what Cyber Choices is and how it can help someone who is at risk of becoming involved in cybercrime.

By attending you will:

  • Be able to identify individuals who you are concerned may be at risk of becoming involved in cyber-dependent crime.
  • Feel confident in referring those who would benefit from a Cyber Choices intervention.
