Derby Moderation Session

There are still places available to attend the moderation session on 6th June 2024. Open to Y2 teachers, this session will focus on national materials for enhancing teachers’ understanding of the writing standards in order to make accurate judgements - BOOK HERE or contact Vincent Hampton vincent.hampton@derby.gov.uk

Secondary Book Challenges and Author Talks 

All Universal secondary schools are invited to sign up to the Secondary Book Challenges, ‘Page Pals’ and ‘Chapter Chasers’. Schools will have access to all of the online resources and live author talks. Find out more here and you can sign up HERE

The first week of Author Talks have got off to a great start! These free and live author talks are continuing next week with more inspiring authors (suitable for Y7-10) who will discuss their books and answer your students’ questions – please email hayley.carter@sdsa for more information.

Communities of Practice

There is still time to book your place at the next Communities of Practice event, focusing on developing reading. This event is for primary and secondary colleagues.

Derby Research School

Opportunities are available to all Priority Literacy schools to access CPD via the Derby Research School. CPD available includes, Creating an Evidence Informed Reading Strategy and Prioritising Oracy in the Classroom.
