All schools with children in Year 6 may be subject to monitoring visits by LA staff. This is undertaken by DCC on behalf of the Standards and Testing Agency. This applies to all schools and academies where children are completing SATs. We will visit a minimum of 10% of all schools before, during or after SATs week.

All these visits will include checking the school’s security arrangements, including storage of test papers before and after the tests have been completed. Please make sure you are following all guidance from the STA. This can be found at Key stage 2 test administration guidance - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). All material should be kept securely and treated as confidential until Friday 24th May, including any unused test papers.

If DCC staff join you while tests are being completed, they will observe the process from the point at which papers are collected from their storage location, through to packing of scripts.

We will also discuss access arrangements and ask to see evidence that demonstrates access arrangements are being applied appropriately. This includes applications for additional time.

Thank you to all staff in advance for your understanding in our performance of this task.

Best wishes to all pupils sitting KS2 SATs this summer. We hope they are able to demonstrate how much they have learnt whilst they have been with you.

Please ensure all staff are familiar with the test administration guidance, as this is a comprehensive source of information. If you have any questions that are not answered by guidance from the STA, please contact Vincent.
