Our current Schools Forum representatives have ended their two years term of office and we are seeking representatives for the next two years. We are seeking either self-nominations from anyone interested in becoming a school forum representative or group nominations where you wish to discuss as a group your representation. All positions are held for two years from September 2024. If more nominations are received than there are places, an election will be held.
The roles and responsibilities of the Schools Forum are detailed below.
It is very important that the Schools Forum represents the wide diversity of Derby’s schools community. Schools Forum Members take a strategic view of the issues they are considering. While members of our Schools Forum are representatives of their specific sector or phase, they must be able to consider the needs of the whole of the educational community.
Wanted for Schools Forum, representatives from:
- 2 x non-academy primary school
- 2 x academy primary school
- 1 x non-academy secondary school
- 2 x academy secondary school
- 1 x special school
- 1 x PRU representative
- 1 x maintained nursery representative
- 1 x School Business Manager Representative
- 1 x free school representative
- 1 x 16-19 representative
- 1 x Voluntary Sector Representative
- 2 x Governor Representatives
- 1 x Trade Union representative
There are four meetings per year and meetings are currently being held virtually using Microsoft Teams.
