Bookings for the summer Holiday Activities & Food Programme (HAF) are now open. The FREE holiday clubs offer a fun environment for children and young people with a range of activities and a meal provided each day. Who is eligible to attend a HAF club?
The HAF clubs are for children from Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits related free school meals.
Where are the clubs running?
There are 38 clubs running right across the city this summer. The full list can be found at the www.derby.gov.uk/derbyHAF. Children can attend any club that suits their interests.
How do families book a place?
Parents / carers can visit www.derby.gov.uk/derbyHAF to see the range of HAF providers and book a place. Every child booking a place will need their own unique code that shows they are eligible for free school meals.
How do families get a code?
The codes and a letter containing information on how to book have been sent to schools for distribution to eligible families. Schools are asked to distribute the codes by Friday 21 June to allow families time to book places before summer. A child can use the same code for HAF for the duration of their time in your school.
What if we have a child who needs support but is not eligible for free school meals?
There are a small number of places available for children who do not receive free school meals but may be considered vulnerable and would benefit from attending a HAF club over summer. These places are limited and are subject to availability and pre-approval. All applications for these places must come from a professional supporting the family, such as a social worker, family support worker or school SENCo. To request a professional referral form please email derbyHAF@derby.gov.uk. Please note the deadline for referrals is Friday 12 July.
