International Women in Engineering Day Inspiring The Next Generation (Secondary Female Students)

Dear Schools,

In June, we will celebrate International Women in Engineering Day - this year, the theme is #EnhancedByEngineering.

Rolls-Royce would like to use this opportunity to inspire the next generation including hosting our Engineering Technology & Safety (ET&S) Inspiring the next Generation Exhibition on Monday 24 June in the Learning & Development Centre, Derby, celebrating all of the fantastic engineering activities we do. The number of women in STEM occupations has doubled to over a million in the past decade but there is still a long way to go to reach gender parity. This event is being held to highlight the brilliant career opportunities available to women and encourage more young girls to consider science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in school and their careers.

There will be stalls showcasing the new ET&S organisation, with a focus on how we design, develop, manufacture & service our products as well as the exciting opportunities that our future holds. We will also be hosting a similar event in November, in support of International Men’s Day.

We would like to encourage you to bring your young female Secondary School students to the June event.

As spaces are limited, we need to operate a strict ticket only policy so please use the Event Brite to book places:

Please book a ticket for yourself and your guest – you will be able to choose from 1 of 2 hourly sessions to sign up to…

  • 14:15 – 15:15
  • 15:15 - 16:15

Please note all adults wishing to attend the event will need to bring photographic ID with them to allow access to the site

At the end of the session there will be the opportunity for a tour around our Heritage Centre too!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Kind regards,

ET&S Leadership Team
