EYFS training opportunities: the revised educational programmes, standardisation and supporting EYFS Profile moderation.

Following on from our previous successful sessions for each Area of Learning led by a subject specialist, we should like to share the dates for the remaining sessions in 2023 – 2024. to support your curriculum development and assessment practices.

RUTH SWAILES is presenting the mathematics session on 23 January. Do not miss this opportunity to work with Ruth who is an experienced teacher, headteacher, LA Adviser and Ofsted inspector as well as a renowned national speaker and advocate for the early years.

We all know that children’s learning and development in the early years impacts all their future educational attainment and their life choices and chances. Ofsted has identified a need for further training for many early education leaders and practitioners to strengthen their knowledge about child development and increase their subject knowledge.

The percentage of Derby children achieving a good level of development in 2023 was below national and we really want to see Derby City children enabled to achieve their very best outcomes. Please come and join us at the remining sessions.

Each session will comprise of:

  • input about child development;
  • input about the area of learning, looking at and beyond the educational programme;
  • an opportunity to discuss your current assessment processes; and
  • a moderation exercise specific to the area of learning using the DfE exemplification materials and other resources.
