Nursery to Reception Transition Portal - Information for Schools

Following on from the successful launch events, the Nursery to Reception Transition Portal will be going live to early years' providers (including school nursery settings where applicable) from Monday 6 March 2023 to begin to enter information for children due to start a Derby City school in September 2023. Schools will be able to receive information from Monday 17 April 2023 – a timeline of activities is attached. To ensure that the roll-out of the Nursery to Reception Transition Portal happens in the most efficient manner for all organisations involved, we have identified a need to ask a few preliminary questions to schools. If you have not already done so, please can we ask you, or a member of your Early Years’ team, to complete our intention of use form at the earliest opportunity here?
To assist with your planning, we will soon circulate across the EY sector a list of early years’ providers and schools who have signed up to use the portal and attend the Information Exchange Event.
To help you in using the portal, we highly recommend attending one of our live, online, training sessions to ensure that you feel confident in using the portal and to allow you to benefit from the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Sign-up forms for schools with nursery settings have been shared with the headteacher of each school. If you have not received your sign-up form link, please contact enquiries@schooltransition.co.uk. Sign-up forms for schools without a nursery will be shared in March.
Information Exchange Event – Save the date - Tuesday 16 May 2023
Early years’ providers and schools will be able to meet online on Tuesday 16 May to share information and discuss children who will need additional support during transition. Early years’ providers will be able to book an hour’s slot to speak to schools between 9am – 7.15pm. Please save the date and further information will be circulated soon - expect to hear from hayley.carter@sdsa.net or emma.sheasby@sdsa.net about this event.
There will be a drop-in session on Thursday 4 May (9am – 7.15pm) where you can pop in for a few minutes to test how the online meeting platform, Collab, works ahead of the main event.
