ECF and ITT: New Vision for the DfE from September 2025

The DfE have announced their intention to launch a new framework from Sept 2025 for ITT and ECT which merges the CCF and ECF – making the first 3 years of teacher training more cohesive and addresses some of the issues relating to the ECF. There is also headline information about improving SEND provision.

I think so many of us will welcome these changes so that the first 3 years are more cohesive, less repetitive and support progression. There is also more time for phase/subject specialism and a reduction in mentor commitments.
