Derby City Council are the employer in law for colleagues in maintained schools. As such, we retain certain statutory obligations and will need to advise in some cases. The School Protocol clarifies what our responsibilities will be, what action maintained schools will need to take in certain situations, and what they can expect from us. We have recently updated the School Protocol and will be adding it to the School Information Portal in due course, along with a list of Derby City Council contacts. In the meantime, both documents have been sent to maintained schools last week for information.
