The Derby designated safeguarding lead (DSL) network is facilitated by the Derby City LA education team remotely twice a year. This network/forum is an opportunity to gain timely inputs from local and national partners with a clear operational focus on safeguarding children and young people in line with statutory guidance. The agenda is developed in collaboration with DDSCP and the education subgroup to respond to local safeguarding needs identified within schools and the sector. There are also opportunities to share good practice and network with colleagues via breakout rooms.

This network meeting aims to:

  • strengthen safeguarding practice and build confidence of the DSL through reflection and peer support
  • consider and share practice on current and relevant safeguarding policy and practices
