The NSC in Derby that is coordinated by the UoD is looking for enthusiastic 13–16-year-olds who are interested in exploring the topic of Society and Change through a variety of arts-based activities. This programme connects with outstanding community partners across the city of Derby including Baby People, Derby Theatre and Artcore.
An upcoming masterclass at the UoD will be working with Kid Karam who is a world-renowned b-boy that was born and raised in Derby. Breakdancing will be in the Olympics for the first time this year and Kid Karam is representing Great Britain. He will be running a class for young people alongside a Q&A at our masterclass. A consent form is required and can be provided in advance when contacted.
Young people are exploring the topic of Society and Change where each week they will work collaboratively on arts-based activities which culminate in a pop-up exhibition at the UoD as part of their Teaching and Learning Conference as well as a trip to London to exhibit their work at Somerset House.
Applying to be involved is easy and only requires the YP (and their guardian) completing the form via this link: https://saturday-club.org/club/university-of-derby/
