Primary Moderation
Pre-Key Stage Standards for Moderation
Led by Keystone Academy Trust, we are hosting Pre-Key Stage Standards for Moderation for all Derby schools on 8th and 9th May. Open to Senior Leaders and SENCos to develop an understanding of expectations and outcomes for those pupils working at a pre-key stage standard.

Derby Moderation Session
There are still places available to attend the moderation session on 6th June 2024. Open to Y2 teachers, this sessions will focus on national materials for enhancing teachers’ understanding of the writing standards in order to make accurate judgements. Email SpecialistSupport@derby.gov.uk to book your place, including the name of each member of staff attending and clearly stating whether you will attend in the morning session or for the afternoon.

Exemplification Materials
Year 2 and Year 6 exemplification materials are now available on the Online Resource Bank for all schools to access. This includes examples from previous academic years as well as, examples at Expected, Greater Depth and Working Towards. Secondary Book Challenges and Author Talks
All Universal secondary schools are invited to sign up to the Secondary Book Challenges and Author Talks, ‘Page Pals’ and ‘Chapter Chasers’. You will have access to all of the resources and live author talks. Find out more here

Communities of Practice

Opportunities are available to all Priority Literacy schools to access CPD via the Derby Research School. CPD available includes, Creating an Evidence Informed Reading Strategy and Prioritising Oracy in the Classroom.
