Derby Adult Learning Service (part of Derby City Council) have two upcoming short courses designed to equip families with practical skills and knowledge to support them through with the cost of living.
Family Budgeting Sessions
Are you worried about the rising cost of living? Join us for FREE support and receive a Slow Cooker or Air Fryer!*
You will:
- Learn how to help manage your money, giving you more control over your finances.
- Learn how to help your child with fun family maths activities.
*Course is free (fully-funded) based on eligibility criteria.
One Slow Cooker or Air Fryer will be given to one household, at the end of the course, providing that the following conditions are met:
- 100% of sessions are attended
- All elements of the course are fully completed
- You have not previously received a free item from an alternative course

Wear and Repair – Visible Mending
Are you trying to make money stretch further and your children’s clothes last longer?
Join us for FREE support and learn the basics of visible mending including:
- Patching
- Visible darning
- Sewing on buttons and fastenings
- Other easy repairs to clothes and school uniforms
