Free Best Food Forward package for secondary schools from the School of Artisan Food in Notts.
Best Food Forward is a funded food education programme which supports secondary schools with evidence-based information, intracurricular health and well-being content, and practical food skills drop-down experience days. The School of Artisan Food are looking to partner with a number of secondary schools in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire, supporting them with:
- 4 x drop-down days for sixteen Yr 9 pupils, held at the inspiring School of Artisan Food, Nottinghamshire.
- For the four sessions, financial support with transport costs going to and from your school to The School of Artisan Food.
- Ongoing support from a registered dietitian and qualified teacher on food-related topics (including practical sessions, career talks, assemblies, etc.)
- Materials designed for teachers to deliver over three lessons in year 7 (KS3 RSHE) and three in year 10 (KS4 RSHE). These lessons will be in line with current statutory guidance about food education, including:
- Lesson plans
- Content
- Resources (which you get to keep afterwards)
Their Food Education Specialist will provide in-person training for these sessions on Tuesday, 3rd July 2024, developing your teachers' knowledge and skills.
