HFL Education Reading Fluency Project
We are delighted to share that we are opening up places to Universal schools to join the HFL Education Reading Fluency Project.
Funded via Priority Literacy, this project is FREE for schools to attend.
Led by HFL Education, the evidence-informed reading intervention works to significantly improve outcomes for pupils and is designed to help equip teachers to improve fluency and comprehension in a short space of time, across primary and secondary phases of education. Primary Moderation Exemplification Materials
Year 2 and Year 6 exemplification materials are now available on the Online Resource Bank for all schools to access. This includes examples from previous academic years as well as, examples at Expected, Greater Depth and Working Towards. Pre-Key Stage Standards for Moderation
Led by Keystone Academy Trust, we are hosting Pre-Key Stage Standards for Moderation for all Derby schools on 8th and 9th May. Open to Senior Leaders and SENCos to develop an understanding of expectations and outcomes for those pupils working at a pre-key stage standard.

Communities of Practice
The next Communities of Practice event will be taking place on 15th July, looking at developing reading.
This event is free to attend for any teacher, teaching assistant, librarian, or other educational practitioner working in or with schools or education settings in Derby City – Find out more here.
Derby Research School
Opportunities are available to all Priority Literacy schools to access CPD via the Derby Research School. CPD available includes, Creating an Evidence Informed Reading Strategy and Prioritising Oracy in the Classroom.
Targeted schools can access this CPD free of charge.
