Join us at our Community Apprenticeship Event for a bite to eat! and let us showcase to you the opportunities Apprenticeships and T-Levels can offer, as an alternative to traditional academic routes.
This event will connect you (a Young Person between 15-24yrs) and your family to education providers and employers to discuss and learn about Apprenticeships, so that you are all collectively better informed to support on and next step decisions.
Funded by the Careers Hub, as a family event, with the understanding that parents and carers have a significant impact on a young persons decision and hence encouraging you to learn together.
Who can attend?
To attend you must meet 1 of the criteria below:
- be a young person between the ages of 15-24
- be a parent/ carer of a young person between the ages of 15-24 and attend with your young person. (other members of your family are welcome to attend, however no one under the age of 8 years old can attend).
- be in reciept of Free School Meals Or live in Abbey, Arboretum, Normanton, Sinfin wards.
What to expect on the day
- 4:30-5pm - Registration and drinks
- 5pm - 6pm - Presentation by ASK Apprenticeships (Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge) Programme, hear from Apprentices and ask your questions about how Apprenticeships can work for you.
- 6pm - 7pm - food and networking - Speak to employers and apprenticeship providers attending on the day, ask questions about thier opportunities, eat and learn as a family!
*Please note to attend the event, you will need to arrive and register before 5pm.
Employers attending on the day
There will be a range of employers attending on the day showcasing thier apprenticeship opportunities including Derby City Council itself, Derby Homes, EON, Wates and many more.
Useful Information:
- Food and drink - Since this event will take place in the evening, food will be provided. Food will be halal, but please advise of any of other dietary requirements when you register your interest to attend.
- Parking - A car park is available adjacent to the Indian community centre that is free for this event located on Rawdon Street.

This event is organised by Derby City Councils Employment and skills Hub and funded by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) Careers Hub.
The Employment and Skills Hub helps young people and Jobseekers to gain the confidence and skills they require to to move into an Apprenticeship or Employment.
The Employment Hub is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday at the Council House (booth 28/29). To be directed to The Hub, please ask at the Derby City Council House reception.
