Educational Psychology Support
This service is for all schools and academies.
In 2024, Derby City Council Specialist Teaching and Psychology Service (STePS) will be relaunching a traded Educational Psychology (EP) service to Derby City schools.
Here are some examples of how a Local Authority (LA) EP can support you and your school:
- coaching, mentoring and reflective supervision for SENCOs
- supporting whole school SEND planning and staff confidence
- transition, integration and re-integration plans
- supporting CYP experiencing school anxiety
- sensory processing assessments and strategies
- CPD for school staff
- supporting conversations with parents and carers
- evidence informed approaches and interventions
- support for EHCNA requests
- specialist support for challenging and complex cases.
Benefits for your school
Your school will have access to an LA EP who understands the needs of your school and the local authority.
You will be allocated a named EP who you can build a relationship with and who can get to know your school.
Cost
From 1 April 2024, we will be offering the following packages:

- Each package will include a planning meeting
- All EP time direct and indirect is included in your package.
If you would like this service from 1 April 2024, please inform STePS admin of your intent to buy to help us plan ahead as soon as possible and no later than 1 February 2024.
