Important Notice about the Early Years Inclusion Fund
The Early Years Inclusion Fund budget for financial year April 2019 to March 2020 has now all been spent.
The EYIF budget this financial year was £250k and with this money we have helped 145 different children. This support has enabled children with special needs and disabilities to access their educational entitlement and the additional funding has supported you to provide targeted and specialist support to them.
We are making significant changes to the way that the Early Years Inclusion Fund will be processed next financial year and cannot accept any new requests for funding either for this financial year (due to the budget being spent) or the next. Applications we have received to date for funding this financial year will be discussed on 5 February but as there is no EYIF budget available we will be discussing other ways we might be able to support you.
Any requests we receive for additional funding from the EYIF from 1 April 2020 will be returned.
There will be new forms and a new process to follow to request additional funding from 1 April 2020. It is anticipated that more money will be available next financial year for 3 and 4 year olds and this will be available to all settings with nursery/pre-school provision. We will be sharing the details with you through before the end of this financial year through the Schools Information Portal and by email. Processes, criteria and forms are being developed by a working group of 13 people representing the sector.
Please note: Funding for children with an Education, Health and Care plan is unaffected.
