Pupils who joined reception during the autumn term should have participated in the statutory reception baseline assessment (RBA). In some circumstances, headteachers may make the decision to disapply a pupil from the assessment. This must be recorded on the Baseline ePortal (BeP). Further information can be found in section 6 of the assessment and reporting arrangements.

Assessments will continue throughout the year for any pupils who join your school and have not already participated in the RBA. Each pupil should have a final overall assessment status (usually ‘assessment complete’ or ‘disapplied’) on the BeP within six weeks of starting reception.

Please ensure that the assessment materials are stored securely when not in use. The materials will be needed again for your September 2022 reception intake.
