RE Syllabus and Training Programme

Representatives of Derby and Derbyshire Local Authorities are members of SACRE and have a role to develop an agreed syllabus for the teaching and learning of RE.

The work on the latest version has now been completed and a PDF electronic copy has been placed in a password-protected area of the School Information Portal. SACRE provide this free to all LA Maintained Schools subject to their agreement that it can be kept on their internal systems only and cannot be shared with others outside the school or accessed by members of the public. Any academy can purchase a copy for £60, a charge agreed as fair and consistent across Derby and Derbyshire.

If any school leader would like access to this document, they will need to contact Specialist Support, Email: specialistsupport@derby.gov.uk who will arrange for any charges and will provide the password.

Some schools may be subscribers to the RE Today Service. If this is the case, the group have written some progression guidance which is intended to sit alongside the RE Agreed Syllabus and provide a commentary which could be helpful in any curriculum discussions with Ofsted.
