About 14-19 education and training
A 14-19 Partnership has been formally constituted since 2007 with a membership drawn from major stakeholders in the city. From this Partnership a 14-19 Co-ordinating Group is tasked with agreeing the business agenda.
In addition, three operational groups have also been established:
- The Curriculum Group - this group is made up from the curriculum leads within the schools and college. It discusses how various government initiatives could be implemented across the City, shares good practise and agrees systems and processes, with regard to curriculum issues, which operate across the City.
- Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) Group - this group is made up from the IAG leads within the schools and college. With schools having the responsibility of delivering IAG to pupils this group shares best practise, ways of working and agrees how the systems and processes around encouraging participation and reducing NEET are outworked in the City.
- Post 16 Group - this group is made up from the 6th form leads within the schools and college. It discusses how various government initiatives could be implemented across the City, shares good practise and agrees systems and processes, with regard to 16-19 issues, which operate across the City.
These groups have been given a remit by the Partnership to propose, recommend and implement changes within 14-19 to the Partnership. In addition to these groups a Post 16 training provider group, and a Participation and Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) Strategy Group also meet.
