Virtual School Support
The Virtual School has commissioned the support of the Educational Psychology Service to support children and young people who are looked after by Derby City.
Together with the Virtual School we have developed the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Team. The Social and Emotional Wellbeing Team for looked after children (LAC) is made up of four educational psychologist (EPs) from within the Derby City Educational Psychology Service. Following referral, children will be allocated to one of four psychologists if they meet the criteria for involvement.
If involvement is agreed the EPs will aim to work with the key adults supporting the child in order to help create a therapeutic environment. In some circumstances the child could also receive direct therapy.
