Post 16-19 Home to School Travel Assistance Consultation

Derby City Council launches an 11 week consultation on the 30 September 2022 encouraging people to share their views on a proposal to change the way we currently provide discretionary home to school or college travel assistance for eligible sixth form learners.

Our proposal
Instead of the Council arranging taxis and minibuses or paying fuel reimbursements, the Council propose to replace them with Personal Travel Budget payments for all eligible sixth form learners. The proposal will be supported by a new and enriched Independent Travel Training (ITT) service to help and support more young people become independent travellers.
