The Council’s Fire Safety Team are continually working to find ways to improve and simplify how information is shared and recorded as part of the management of Fire Risk at the Council’s Corporate and School premises.

The Fire Safety Team utilises the Derby City Council Client Portal system (this is managed by the Property Services department) which allows premises-based colleagues to:

  • access the building’s key management information,
  • request Property Services maintenance works, and
  • view all pertinent information in relation to the building that they work in or manage.

The DCC Client Portal can be accessed utilising the following link: DCC Client Portal.

Whilst the facility to complete Fire Risk Management Actions have been available on the DCC Client Portal system for some time, this has been running alongside an excel spreadsheet system. The Fire Safety team intend to phase out the excel spreadsheet system by 31st December 2022.
From 1st January 2023, the DCC Client Portal will be the only means of receiving and updating Fire Risk Management Actions.

It is therefore essential that before 1st January 2023 the Responsible Persons nominated by the asset manager for the site should be trained and competent to utilise the portal.

To view the Fire Risk Management Actions documentation, colleagues will need to log into the DCC Client Portal.

Colleagues should note that, for consistency, only the premises Responsible Persons, (including Building Managers, Business Managers and Headteachers) will be able to add details to the DCC Client Portal.

This will specifically apply to updates to the Fire Risk Management Actions for our building premises.

The Fire Safety Team need to know which individuals at each of the Council’s premises will have the ability to update these records, as these individuals will need to be assigned rights within the Property Asset Management System.
