Nursery to Reception Transition Portal – New for Summer 2023

Building on the success of the other transition portals in Derby, you may be aware that there was a successful pilot of a Nursery to Reception Transition Portal last term. Developed and tested with the support of an Early Years Transition Working Group, colleagues felt the portal was easy to use, created a consistent approach across the sector and that the exchange of a comprehensive set of valuable information supported all children’s transition to school, particularly children with additional needs.
Great news!! Due to the pilot’s success, work is now underway to roll out the Nursery to Reception Transition Portal across the city, ready for schools to receive information during Summer Term 2023 about their new starters for the next academic year. Please see the attached flyer to find out more. Look out for further information being circulated shortly and let all your early years’ colleagues know the portal is coming soon! There will be online launch events in January and February to explain more. Free training and support will be provided by School Transition during Spring and Summer Term.
