Safer Internet Day 2023

Safer Internet Day is an annual event organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre, featuring a different theme each year to educate internet users about. The theme this year is “Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online”. This year it falls on Tuesday 7th February 2023.

We have updated the Safer Derbyshire website to support the day by detailing the importance to parents of building conversations about internet use into everyday life at home, with the aim of building a relationship of trust with their children so that they may feel comfortable in coming forward after a negative experience online and understand steps that can be taken to protect themselves online. We have included some strategies to help guide the conversation and some trusted websites for more information.
