Derby City Council and Community Action Derby are delighted to announce that applications are now open for grants for the Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) for the Easter holidays. The HAF funding, from the Department for Education, enables schools and other local community based or private organisations to deliver holiday activities and food to children aged 5-16 who are eligible for free school meals in Derby.

The recent winter programme was a great success with 23 providers engaging hundreds of children across the city to develop new skills, try out new sports, take part in dance and drama, as well as enjoying some fantastic festive trips to the pantomime and bowling.

Schools and local groups can apply to deliver activities as part of the Easter HAF programme by visiting Derby Holiday and Activity Food Programme (HAF) - Easter 2023

A Holiday Activities and Food referral form is available for children who may not meet the free school meals eligibility requirement but may be vulnerable due to their circumstances. Applications can be made for children who meet the vulnerable criteria to attend HAF sessions. Please note that places through the referral scheme are subject to approval and availability.

If you would have any questions or would like to find out more about how your school can get involved in the HAF programme, please contact DerbyHAF@derby.gov.uk
