As in most years schools play a significant part within the valuation process for all DCC assets; and to this end the majority are likely to be visited by one of the valuers who have been engaged to undertake this work on behalf of the Council. A new Supplier has been appointed this year – the company is called JLL.

This work involves them inspecting most of the buildings and external space, it is not envisaged that every classroom will be inspected internally, so minimal disruption will be caused to the day to day running of the school.

If there have been any changes to the structures – either new blocks or demolitions these should be already known to the valuers, however, please do ensure that refurbishments or any other changes including significant repairs or maintenance are shared with the valuers. It is critical they have the accurate facts for the land and buildings which forms the asset itself and allows it to be accurately declared within the accounts as part of the Asset Valuation process.

All valuers attending site will have their own identity badge and will have arranged the appointment via email in the first instance.
